Wood planks or tiles?
This blog post features the beautiful home of one of our lovely customers, Tracy. The tile she picked is Retro Country (840mmx218mm), a wood plank tile with random variation between individual tiles, allowing it to more-closely resemble the look of a natural wood floor. This is the third colour of the Retro range to feature in our blog; for the Retro Nature and the Retro Deep, see our earlier blog posts!
Having such a large floor area, spanning an extension as well as the original building, would often lead customers to flooring choices of large square or multiformat tiles. However, the option of a wood plank tile has the benefits of making the room look warmer and tying in several different colours that may be present in the room's furniture. I think most would agree that Tracy's home looks fabulous!
Of course, there is also the advantage over real wood flooring that these porcelain tiles are much easier to maintain; they are much more difficult to damage and much easier to keep clean!
This is another fabulous job of our very own tiler, Simon. The tile is laid randomly - like brick-bond but each row is offset to a different extent than the others, causing it to reflect a real wood look more accurately.
If any of the tiles in our pictures catch your eye, in this blog post or any future ones, please don't hesitate to come and see us in store to meet our friendly staff and browse our tile selection.
